Summary

The is still a debate about indication of PLDD for patients of disc herniation passed open surgery at some level.

Among our three patients having previous lumbar laminectomy PLDD at the some levels presented good result for two and fair result for one. This preliminary result is encouraging.

In our opinion, PLDD is indictable for patients having previous laminectomy if the disc height is not decreased remarkably, the annulus fibrosis is still continuous, the wound fibrosification is not obvious and there is (are) not other contraindication(s) as for ordinary patients of herniated disc.
